Tickled Pink

Last week, we went to the Tickled Pink event on campus. It’s called “a global, unified effort for the WBCA nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond” (WBCA being Women’s Basketball Coaches Association). Anyhow, everyone is supposed to wear pink in support, and here it was co-sponsored by the hospital. They offered me free tickets, and we said, sure, why not?

The tickets confused us, though. They just let you sit anywhere for womens’ games, I guess. It was hard to find a spot that wasn’t in the middle of Vols fans (you can tell by all the orange! (the Lady Rebs were playing the Tennessee Lady Volunteers)

We missed out on the pink cookies that they handed out because we were not seated down closer. Well no one TOLD us. Ah well, we still had a good time.

We moved at halftime, hoping maybe they’d bust out the cookies again (they didn’t)…whoops. out of focus!

(alexander saw the above photo and exclaimed, “you went to the circus, Mama!”)

I wore my shirt I made for last year’s Race for the Cure and then never wore because I didn’t Race for anything, let alone a Cure.

and another so you can see all the names on the other side

and the front, at home, after I took off my lipstick

Final score: Tennessee 68, Ole Miss 44 (ouch), $2,970 raised for breast cancer research and awareness in Lafayette County.
